The place for everything bitcoin!

Bitcoin is the currency of the Internet: a distributed, worldwide, decentralized digital money. Unlike traditional currencies such as dollars, bitcoins are issued and managed without any central authority whatsoever: there is no one in charge of bitcoin and it is made up of willing participants. Bitcoin gives you the option to be your own bank.

Breadwallet -Bitcoin Cash

Hello all,
I have an amount of bitcoin in breadwallet and would like to transfer it to nano ledger. I have not yet retrieved my bitcoin cash so I was wondering if I should wait until bread actually releases the feature that enables the bitcoin cash transfer ? Will my bitcoin cash be lost if I empty my bitcoin amount from bread or it will remain there and once the release the feature I can retrieve it ?
Any ideas ?
Thank you

Accidentally restored my phone and didn't recover my BTC from my Breadwallet Bitcoin in january 2019

I'm confused. It's as easy as loading a prepaid debit card and the business representative handles the entire transaction? What ways are there to buy bitcoins within 1-2 days. Bonus Questions? The 8 day turn around is too much for me. Hello guys, my question is not particularly limited to bitcoin but I got refered to here from.

Need help recovering Breadwallet bitcoins.

I recently upgraded phones to an iPhone 6 Plus from an iPhone 5S. I had sent a total of 8 BTC to my Breadwallet and created a recovery phrase before switching over entirely, and with each transaction, my Breadwallet created new addresses. I tested this recovery phrase once with a small amount on my 5S and it worked fine.
I opened up the Breadwallet app on my new phone and used my recovery phrase... The balance shows 0 BTC. What's going on here? Are my bitcoins lost forever? I lost track of my most recent address after my last deposit a couple months ago but trusted my recovery phrase would be enough. But I believe the address showing on my phone now is the same.
The old phone has since been wiped and sold.
Here it is - 1FT1ikb9QKx5SMEEsnLureLgnRWuB2oN7b
EDIT: Rescanned the blockchain... My balance came back. Phew. Never had to do this before. I won't lie; I was sweating a bit there!

Reseller only accepts e-transfer and CC

I found a reseller I want to try but he only accepts e-transfer or credit cards neither of which is anonymous.
I have a breadwallet Bitcoin wallet that I never refill online and isn't associated with any bank. Is there a way to make an e-transfer by using my bitcoin and remaining anonymous?
I don't want to remain anonymous for bad reasons, I don't want the reseller to know who I am in case he or his provider get into trouble and get taken down.

Non-Argies coming from other subs to ask for free bitcoins: you're welcome here, but I'm giving priority to Argentines for now.
To all other bitcoiners helping out: thank you so much <3

Mini-FAQ:

¿Qué wallet recomendás?
Online:
  • Blockchain.info

Is Coinbase the worst fucking website and app ever?

I'm beginning to think so.
First, I make one single purchase using bitcoin each year for a subscription to Nfl2Go. Just one, that's it. It should be pretty simple for me to buy the $25 in bitcoin and pay for this. I've done it for three years in a row now.
Last year, Coinbase was so buggy that I went elsewhere for the purchase and it was extremely quick. Sadly, I can't seem to find an email receive or anything to remind myself of what it was. I'm resyncing my Breadwallet bitcoin wallet right now (at 77% and counting!) and hopefully I may see the transaction thereafter to suss out where it was).
Due to last year's issues, I literally contacted Coinbase and demanded that they delete my account. They confirmed they would do this. However, today as I was trying to find a place to purchase bitcoins (I'd go through Breadwallet but it's a minimum $40 purchase and I only want to spend $25, dang nab it) and couldn't find one that would be quick, I went to Coinbase thinking maybe, just maybe, it'd be a better experience.
Boy was I fucking wrong. *Potential Ninja Edit* - I left out the fact that while they confirmed they deleted my shit, I was able to fully login today. They never deleted my account, which pisses me off even more. *End Potential Ninja Edit* I am an older Millennial, but I still do the vast majority of shit from my iPhone X. I couldn't add my ID on there because they said the Chrome browser wasn't supported. They then give trash instructions about identification on iOS by going to Settings > Identity Verification - WHICH IS NOT A FUCKING THING. How hard is it to provide real instructions? Surely someone in their office happens to have one of these mythical, rare unicorn devices that are iPhones who could open it up and maybe tell them wherever the hell they need to go to do whatever it is they're wanting me to do.
I'm baffled that they don't have the ability to code it so I can just open up my camera from a mobile version of the site and take a photo of my ID.
Then they say go to the App. So I do. I've got 2fA on, and once it sends me the SMS with the code ... it always says that it is an invalid number. Over and over and over and over and over. I'm getting the number straight from them and it's wrong!? What is this horseshit?
I'm so god damn fed up with this trash of a fucking company. I'm extremely disappointed they're the most prolific for bitcoin. And I'm fairly confident it is this type of shit service and technology issues that make it so even fewer people will try bitcoin out. It really should not be this hard.
I'm generally a patient person. In the past I've spent up to a week working with my credit union and bitcoin people in France to make a transaction go through. But years have passed and this should no longer be this hard.
Fuck. Fucking fuck.
Okay. Rant over.
Can I get an aaaaaaa-men!?

Bit Coin Wallets- All you need to know

Bit Coin Wallets- All you need to know
Once you know what bit coins are and where to get them, you need to know where to keep them. If you are looking for where to keep your bitcoins, you are at the right place!

Here are all the possible kinds of Wallets that can be used to keep your Bitcoins.
ü Pape Physical Bitcoin Wallet:
A paper wallet or a physical wallet is basically a physical document, referred to as a printed sheet of paper that contains a public key that can be used to receive bitcoins and a private key which allows you to spend or transfer bitcoins stored at that address. A paper wallet can be generated using:
i) BitAddress
ii) Bitcoinpaperwallet
ü Mobile Wallet:
Different mobile applications have been built to store coins. These apps need you to download them on your phone and sign up to create your own coin wallet. These are more easily assessable and handy for frequent bitcoin users. Some frequently used mobile wallet apps are:
i) Breadwallet
ii) Copay
iii) Airbitz

ü Web/Online Wallet:
Several different companies provide services to store your private keys on the server of their company’s website. Different companies offer different types of services, personalization of your wallet and securities. Some of these also have mobile applications which enables you to download their apps on your smart devices. Following are a few such service providers:
i) GreenAddress
ii) BitGo
iii) Blockchain.info
ü Desktop/ Software Wallet:
These wallets are in the form of softwares that can be easily downloaded and installed on your desktop. These store your private keys on your systems’ hard drive. They do not rely on or involve any third-party interference, yet are still connected to the internet. Some of these wallets are:
i) Bitcoin Core
ii) Armory
iii) Electrum
ü Hardware Wallet:
As the name suggests, Hardware wallets hold the user’s private keys in a hard drive, probably a USB drive. It secures the private keys and it can easily be used to send or collect crypto currencies. Transactions can be made by simply plugging the hard drive into a system linked to the internet. The most common hardware wallets are:
i) Ledger Nano
ii) Trezor
iii) OPENDIME

All wallets are categorized to be either hot or cold. The ones connected to the internet or online are called "hot." On the other hand, "cold" means that you are disconnected or offline from the internet. The "cold" is considerably the safer option, so it is recommended for store large amounts of bitcoins.
Cold Wallets include pape physical wallets and hardware wallets. Hard ware wallets might be the best possible option as they secure your private keys in a hard drive which is offline and only requires you to connect to the internet once a transaction needs to be completed. This reduces most chances of theft as the device is online merely for a restricted time.

Why is Blockchain wallet still a thing?

Don't get me wrong, hitting 3 million wallets is a great achievement, but are they adding value to the bitcoin ecosystem? Their wallet is terrible compared to the other wallets that are out now, such as Airbitz, Mycelium, Breadwallet, Electrum. All these wallets come with more features and security built-in and with less room for user error for securely backing up keys then BC.info. Why the lack of innovation? They had one of the largest investment rounds in the space, where is all that investment going toward? They've had security issues with the r-values and constant fishing issues. It was my first wallet and worked well for a while, but they've fallen behind the innovation curve IMO.
I think we need to point newcomers to more user friendly wallets.
